Centenarian World War II Veteran Jimmy Hernandez Celebrates Birthday with Epic Skydive

Jimmy Hernandez, a 100-year-old World War II veteran, made a thrilling leap into the skies to celebrate his birthday. The event, which took place in Davis, California, marked a memorable three-generation skydiving celebration for the Hernandez family.

Accompanied by his son and grandson, the energetic and unstoppable Mr. Hernandez embarked on this daring adventure, much to the delight of family and friends who gathered to watch. Collin Anderson, a former neighbour, described Jimmy as a man who continues to defy age and inspire those around him.

For several years, Jimmy had expressed his desire to skydive, and on this special day, his wish finally came true. After completing the jump, he expressed relief and a sense of accomplishment, stating, "I know that I'm 100, but I don't feel that way."

Despite his advanced age, Jimmy's zest for life was evident as he admired the view during his descent, taking in sights of lakes he hadn't seen before. His wife, Dora Hernandez, a sprightly 91 years old, watched the event from a front row seat, her eyes filled with pride.

Jimmy Hernandez served in the U.S. Navy and is the proud father of 12 children. His family tree extends far and wide, with more than 120 descendants. The support for Jimmy's skydiving dream extended beyond his immediate family, with former neighbours driving in from out of town to witness this historic moment.

In an unusual twist, Jimmy attributed his longevity to a daily shot of tequila, although regulations did not permit him to indulge in this tradition before the skydive. Despite this, the centenarian veteran jumped with the same spirit and vigour that has defined his life, proving that age is truly just a number.
